Several weeks ago, Craig Jones, a Department of Public Service officer noticed a driver that was speeding and driving erraticly. Craig proceeded to follow the vehicle and then pull him over.
When Craig asked the driver for his license and registration, he could see the man was extremely anxious and very upset. After checking his documents, Craig asked the man what was upsetting him. By this time the man was in tears explaining to Craig that he had just learned that his father had terminal cancer. Craig asked the man if he wanted him to pray, with him. The man readily agreed.
There on the side of the road, Craig prayed with the man. There was a calming effect on the man and Craig sent him on his way, without a citation. This to me exemplifies the stewardship resoulution of "I'll improve stewardship of life by practicing the presence of God and living the teachings of Christ wherever I may be...whatever I may be doing ... always remembering my final accountability." Craig is also an Elder at our church.
