There is a man at our church who gives freely of his time and talents. He has cleaned the church, planned and served breakfasts to the homeless, takes charge of our vegetable ministry, takes his turn as liturgist, leads worship, is a Certified Lay Speaker and has preached in the pastor's absence. He is always available to help at the church no matter what the need is. He is a great candidate for Steward of the Month.
He takes great joy in helping others and in the time he spends at the church. He prepares the sanctuary for worship every Sunday and sings in the choir. He is a Trustee and monitors the parking lot, puts out the trash, and one time captured a bat that had flown into the pastor's office. He does all of this in spite of the fact that he has an injured knee. These are only the things I am aware of - I am sure there are many more ways he helps out those who are less fortunate.
