There is no doubt (in my mind) that when the Book of His Life is read by God, James Revis will be recognized entirely for his faithfulness and as an exemplary steward. James has served our St. Ambrose Church Parish in many capacities. No matter what goes on...he is always willing to serve in any way. For many years he was the Adult Church School Teacher, led many Bible Studies, and his service on the Church Vestry warranted him the honor of Senior Warden. His participation on committees is numerous: Building and Grounds, Prayer Guild, Communications, just to name a few. When he retired from the Post Office, James made a habit of coming by and checking on the church every day. He still does this! Today even at the age of 80, he serves as Lay Eucharistic Minister on the altar and a LEM Visitor who takes communion to our sick and shut in. He also serves as the Chairpeson of our Church Food Pantry. He picks up the food from the Inter-Food Shuttle every Wednesday, and delivers it to the church. Then on Thursday, he, with the help of other church volunteers, helps to prepare and deliver food boxes to no less than 25-30 needy families. For twenty-five years, once-a-month, he has helped to serve meals at the Helen Wright Center for homeless women in our city. He proudly shared with me that he only missed being there, once!
Well done, good and faithful servant! MT 25:21
