Katherine Smith has had many titles in her life, including those of wife, mother, grandmother, Sunday School teacher, and prayer warrior. A very vital and active member of Morrow First United Methodist Church, Katherine carries out her own ministry by baking the most delicious bread and delivering loaves to people she hears of who may just need to know that someone cares. She quietly attends to those who stand in need of an act of kindness and caring at just the right time. Katherine has been known to take loaves to those who are home-bound, those who have illness, those who have lost loved ones, and those whove just received bad news of any kind.
Sharing loaves of home-baked bread is part of Katherines stewardship. While in her golden age and living on a fixed income herself, she continues to give of her time, her talent and her means to make the bread of life and share it with others. The secret ingredient that makes her bread so wonderful is the love and concern she bakes right into it!
Katherines example of stewardship reminds the rest of us that:
we are to share of our means, however great or small, and at whatever age we are, with Gods children.
we need to listen with our heart to the needs of those around us, and
we need to ACT in ways that demonstrate our care and concern, using the talents that God blessed each of us with.
