Every Sunday, early in the morning, Linda and Art pack up their instruments and head out to play music for the early service at their church. It is not always an easy task, loading and unloading a big bass fiddle, autoharp, dulcimer, and countless music books into their car each week, and then do it in reverse after the service. And recently, it has been an even greater effort, having overcome a vicious attack on her by two neighborhood dogs, and just a few weeks ago, a fall down the icy steps as she headed out for their weekly early Sunday stint at church. However, faithful stewards that they are, the music continues to flow at Sunday morning services, with at least one of them if the other is ailing.
I am so very proud of both my sister and brother-in-law for their tireless service to a very appreciative congregation, to those who are confined because of illness or age, and to countless others with whom they have shared their musical knowledge. Their music has touched many, including me.
