The First Baptist Food Bank in our California town was started in 1987 by John and Marge Faye. They are an excellent example of Stewards to our Lord. John and Marge have dedicated every Saturday and Tuesday to run the food bank for the last 20 plus years, and have answered the call of our neighboring communities. Our Reverend mentioned to the congregation during our service that a nearby city had families in need of food and basic items to live ... and John and Marge saw him after the service to see what they could do to help. It took them only three months to get the food bank off the ground. It is now run by over 50 volunteers and it serves the needs of over 600 families in need of emergency assistance. Our Reverend called out to our church to help, to come together and fight the good fight, to try to cure the world, to love one another, and to spread the Word of our Lord. Marge and John accepted this challenge and they are prime examples of what we should all strive to be. I would like to nominate them as Stewards of the Month for your publication.
