I am writing in regards to the article in the Stewardship Magazine you wrote looking for Stewards of the month. Immediately upon reading your article, Marian Martens sprung into my mind. I am not passionate about writing; however, I could not let an opportunity like this one to pass by.
Marian is a servant of our Lord and has been a faithful and dedicated member of our parish in Okawville, IL. She has worked so faithfully in the church, taking care of the altar, helping with the music program, serving as the chairman of the ILC 100 year anniversary committee for 2008, and on so many other committees I couldnt possibly list them all here.
Cancer has taken a hard toll on Marian, and she has reluctantly cut back on most of her duties here at the church. But it goes to prove just how much you don't know how much one individual can do to make the church what it is until that person is no longer there to do what they've been doing.
Marian is wonderful woman that words can't really describe. She is a role model for everyone, and I want as many people in the world to know that we love her, and know all about her servitude to the Lord and sacrifices she has made for the good of her church.
