Last week at our local country store, two young men were giving Christy, the owner, a hard time about paying for the candy they ate. I am an elderly woman, and not wanting to get involved I walked to the back of the store. A different young man came in and although he was half the size of the other boys, he stood up to them and got them out of the store. The young man was gone when I got to the counter; I never got to thank him I just paid, and left for home. This past Sunday I saw that same young man at church with his family. I walked over to him, and thanked him for being so good to Christy and protecting the both of us. I handed him a $20 bill, and said this was a small reward. At first he wouldn't take it, saying over and over that he only did what was right. He finally took it with much protest. Ten minutes later, he put the entire twenty dollars into the basket at mass.
We could all learn a lot from Gregg!
